A True Conservative
Meet Judy Ward
Judy Ward was elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in 2018, becoming the first woman to represent the 30th Senate District. Prior to being elected to the Senate, she served two terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Judy is a Registered Nurse, as well as a former small business owner, development professional and wellness coordinator for Ward Transport and Logistics.
In the Senate, Judy has earned a reputation as one of the most conservative voices in Harrisburg. She has supported legislation that protects our 2nd Amendment rights, preserves the sanctity of the unborn and guarantees secure and fair elections by requiring Voter ID.
During the pandemic, Judy has fought to reign in Governor Wolf’s unconstitutional power grabs and government overreach. She supported banning vaccine and school mask mandates along with ensuring that parents decide what is best for their children.
In addition to standing up for our conservative values and rights, Judy’s record on economic growth, healthcare and agricultural issues has consistently earned her support from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce and Industry PAC, and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau PAC. Judy has also been awarded by the American Conservative Union Foundation with a conservative Pennsylvania lawmaker designation.
Judy currently serves as Chair of the Senate Aging and Youth Committee, which is responsible for reviewing legislation that affects the programs and services dedicated to senior citizens and younger Pennsylvanians. Under her leadership, the committee played a critical role in addressing flaws in the Wolf Administration’s management of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The committee also considered legislation last year to improve newborn health screenings which was signed into law.
She also serves as a member of the following committees: Education, Finance, Health and Human Services, Law and Justice, and Rules & Executive Nominations and the Senate Republican Policy Committee. She is a member of the Local Government Commission and the Advisory Council for the Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home.
A lifelong resident of Blair County, Judy is a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and earned a nursing diploma at the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She is a graduate of R.U.L.E. – The Pennsylvania Rural Urban Leadership Program run by the Penn State University College of Agricultural Sciences.
Judy resides in Hollidaysburg with her husband, Bill. They are the proud parents of two grown sons, Bill Jr., and Adam.
